About the Tax Manager position

We are looking for a responsible and skilled Tax Manager who will organize and supervise client tax assignments. We expect you to provide us with quality tax services to help maintain the level of company’s reputation. Your duties will also include providing business consulting services to our clients, to increase their engagement and ultimately contribute to increased success.

Whitlock & Company P.C. was founded in 1996 by Michael Whitlock. His experience provided a strong foundation in accounting and tax services for clients in the East Tennessee county areas. Our professionals work with clients throughout the year, not just during tax season to assure their business is running efficiently in all financial areas.

Tax Manager responsibilities are:

  • Perform tax planning, technical review of selected tax returns such as, but not limited to, business and 1040 tax returns.

  • Prepare and review complex business income tax returns

  • Monitor tax team to ensure their timely completion and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Interact with clients to consult them on their tax planning

  • Work together with company's tax and accounting personnel

  • Prepare Compilations and Reviews

Tax Manager requirements are:

  • CPA certification required

  • 5+ years' experience of working in a public accounting Tax position

  • BA degree in Accounting or MA degree in Taxation

  • Profound experience in tax accounting, tax compliance and all kinds of tax return operations

  • Good experience in customer services area and ability to develop excellent client relationships

  • Good knowledge of MS Office and UltraTax

  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills

  • Analytical skills with close attention to details

    • Ability to meet deadlines and find solutions to problems

  • In Person in Alcoa, TN 37701 (Hybrid possibility 2 days a week for right candidate)
